Bioengineering Return to Campus, Fall 2021

By Kate Hoch

We are pleased to share that the Department of Bioengineering is resuming more normal operations over the coming months to bring students back to campus for Fall 2021.  With your help and the continuing progress in the vaccination effort, the Department of Bioengineering will be offering all courses in a Hybrid format on both campuses.  In person learning days will be scheduled by the instructor using the days and times you registered for classes.  Please watch for email communications from your instructors closer to the start of the fall semester.

As previously announced, all members of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus community are required to be fully vaccinated ahead of the fall semester.  Students with courses on this campus are asked to be fully vaccinated prior to beginning their fall programs, and everyone on the medical campus must be fully vaccinated no later than September 1. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, you are encouraged to do so at your earliest opportunity.  Please remember that most vaccines require 2 doses, spaced 3 weeks apart and you are not considered fully vaccinated until 2 weeks after your second dose.  This means that you need to have your 1st dose administered prior to July 28th to meet the deadline. By taking this step together as an academic medical campus, we lead by example in helping bring an end to this historic healthcare challenge. We also move closer toward a post-pandemic working and learning environment.

You can find information about the CU Anschutz Medical Campus COVID-19 vaccination policyand information regarding exemptions on the vaccine webpage.

Should conditions or public health guidelines change, these plans may require adjustment and we will share more information as it becomes available.
