Ashanthi Maxworth awarded the IEEE Life Member Graduate Study Fellowship in Electrical Engineering

Ashanthi Maxworth We are pleased to announce that PhD student, Ashanthi Maxworth, has been awarded the IEEE Life Member Graduate Study Fellowship in Electrical Engineering. This award carries a $10,000 per year stipend paid. Please join us in congratulating her in winning this prestigious award.  Ashanthi completed her BS at the University of Moratuwa, which is the top technical university in Sri Lanka.  Ashanthi joined CU Denver in Spring 2013 and is currently pursing the EAS PhD degree under Dr. Mark Golkowski.

EE senior design project published at the 2013 IEEE Green Technologies Conference

A paper from an electrical engineering senior design project, the Stirling Engine, will be published at the fifth annual IEEE Green Technologies Conference in Denver on April 4 – 5. Students Darick LaSelle, Robert Liechty, Hassan Alzamzam, Robert Foster, and Jasmin Dzabic are all working on the project and will compete in the college’s Spring Senior Design Competition on May 7. EE student wins IEEE Power & Energy Scholarship

Kyle_D_IEEE_PESElectrical engineering senior Kyle Dunn has been selected to receive a scholarship as part of the IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative™. This is the second year Dunn has been awarded this scholarship. Assistant Professor Jaedo Park is the university’s faculty representative for this scholarship.

The PES Scholarship Plus lnitiative™ recognizes undergraduate students who have declared a major in electrical and computer engineering, are high achievers with strong GPAs with distinctive extracurricular commitments and are committed to exploring the power and energy field. Each scholarship recipient receives $2,000.
