The College of Engineering, Design and Computing is pleased to announce its first cohort of Broadening Participation Fellows. These faculty, representing every academic unit in the college, is being recognized for their ongoing efforts to make the education of engineers and the practice of engineering welcoming to people from every gender, race, religion, veteran status, economic class, and walk of life. These efforts include, but are not limited to, each Broadening Participation Fellow’s participation in a three-year faculty learning community built around the Colorado Equity Toolkit, which is structured as follows:

This work supports CU Denver’s strategic plan, the college’s strategic vision, and—perhaps most importantly—prepares CU Denver to leverage the diversity bonus, the simple but powerful idea that diverse teams create better designs. This faculty learning community, organized through a project called Engineering is Not Neutral: Transforming Instruction through Collaboration and Engagement (ENNTICE), which is funded by a $350,000 award from the U.S. National Science Foundation, includes the following cohort of Broadening Participation Fellows:
