From Tirupati to Tech: Sai Krishna Karnam’s Journey in Robotics and Computer Science
Student Spotlight: Computer Science Major, Sai Krishna Karnam.
Sai Krishna Karnam grew up in Tirupati, a vibrant town in India, where he completed his high school education. His passion for technology led him to pursue a degree in Computer Science at CU Denver, a program that perfectly aligns with his academic and professional goals. CU Denver’s location, resources, and strong industry connections made it the ideal choice for Sai as he embarks on his journey in the tech world.
With a particular interest in Robotics, Sai is fascinated by the field’s multidisciplinary nature. Robotics, which combines mechanics with embedded systems programming, offers endless opportunities for exploration, and Sai thrives on learning how these diverse areas come together to create innovative solutions. This passion fuels his academic pursuits and shapes his aspirations for the future.
In addition to his academic work, Sai enjoys being an active part of campus life. He regularly attends cultural events and festivals, appreciating the sense of community they foster. He has also taken on leadership roles, serving as a teaching assistant for the CSCI 2312 course and now working as a Supplementary Learning Leader for the same class. These experiences have deepened his understanding of computer science and allowed him to mentor his peers.
Though he is not currently involved in any student clubs, Sai has plans to join both the ACM and Lynx Robotics clubs, where he hopes to further engage with his peers and expand his knowledge in the field of robotics.
Outside of academics, Sai enjoys a variety of hobbies that help him unwind and stay active. He loves playing cricket, video gaming, and reading adventure and horror novels, which provide him with a balance between his rigorous studies and personal interests.
Looking ahead, Sai is determined to make his mark in the field of Robotics and AI. He aspires to work in this cutting-edge industry while continuing his academic research in computer science, with the goal of contributing to innovations that will shape the future of technology. His dedication, curiosity, and passion for robotics promise a bright and impactful career ahead.
