Summer 2012 FCQs information and deadlines

Printed FCQs have been delivered to the departments as of July 6, 2012. ADMINISTRATION of FCQs IS TO OCCUR THE WEEK OF July 23, 2012.  Please remember the following:

  • Complete instructions for the administration of FCQs are included in each FCQ packet, but you may also refer to the FCQ Instructions for Administrators at http://www.colorado.edu/fcq/instrfcq.htm#admin>  and Instructions for Instructors <http://www.colorado.edu/fcq/instrfcq.htm#instr> for more detailed information.
  • Individual faculty members are responsible for the proper delivery of FCQs to students.
    • FCQs should be administered by someone other than the instructor or TA. Neither instructors nor course TAs should be present at any time during administration, nor should they have any contact with the FCQs after administration.
    • All FCQs are to be delivered to department faculty for completion during the week of July 23, 2012.
    • All FCQs are to be collected within your respective departments, bundled and delivered to Paul in the Dean’s Office by TUESDAY, JULY 31, 2012. Individual FCQs will not be accepted.
    • Completed FCQs are to be delivered back to your respective departments, NOT THE DEAN’S OFFICE.

Students from Cole Middle School visit campus; learn about sustainability offerings

On Friday, July 6, more than 200 students from Denver School of Science and Technology Cole Middle School visited CU Denver and took tours of faculty labs and campus facilities. Director of Student Services Paul Rakowski spoke about the college’s commitment to sustainability, and former mechanical engineering students Keith Nguyen and Mark Maceda showcased their Mile Highdrogen car to show the students their sustainable energy creation (www.milehighdrogen.org).  Civil engineering post-doc Rui Liu and PhD student Andrea Solis demonstrated concrete testing, and graduate student Jonathan Dubinsky presented the biofuels lab.

Fire alarm test in North Classroom on July 11

On Wednesday, July 11, from 7 to 8 a.m., the contractors of the Auraria Science Building Project and the Denver Fire Department will conduct fire alarm testing in the North Classroom Building. During this test, audible alarms, horns and strobes will be tested.

Bioengineering program manager Corinna Rohse leaving CU Denver

Department of Bioengineering Program Manager Corinna Rohse will start her new position as Director of the Student Academic Success Center at CU Boulder on July 23, 2012.  You are invited to keep in touch with her at SASC. She will be missed!
