Bioengineering new-student orientation
On August 14, the Department of Bioengineering will welcome seven doctoral and 15 master’s students at their new-student orientation. Current bioengineering students, faculty and staff will participate in the day-long event.

Science and Technology Policy Fellowship Information Session
Learn about American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)’s Science and Technology Policy Fellowships on Thursday, August 16, at 4 p.m. in room 480 of the CU Building (1250 14th Street).
The AAAS’s Science and Technology Policy Fellowship is a post-graduate-level fellowship that offers medical doctors, scientists and engineers the opportunity to contribute their analytical skills to policymaking in Washington D.C. while learning about the role of science in the federal government.

Welcome new students at CU Denver’s New Student Convocation
On August 17, join new students, friends, family and university faculty and staff at New Student Convocation. This ceremony marks the official beginning of a student’s academic career at CU Denver. It begins at noon in the Tivoli Turnhalle and will be followed by a BBQ.

CU Denver Block Party
The university is hosting its first-ever Block party on August 23. Lawrence Street between 14th and 15th will be closed to traffic and open for fun. Listen to local music, fly down a mobile zip line, climb a rock wall and enjoy lunch from a variety of local food trucks.

In an effort to better serve the college, the dean’s office has created the CEAS Academic Calendar in Outlook that is accessible to all CEAS employees.
To access the calendar, select “Open Calendar” from the calendar toolbar and then search for “CEAS Academic Calendar” in the global address book.
- with MS 2007, click on “Open a Shared Calendar” and search for “CEAS Academic Calendar” in the global address book.
- if you’re on a mac and using Entourage, select “open other user’s folder” from the file menu and search for CEAS Academic Calendar. Click on “Advanced” and type “webmail.ucdenver.edu/exchange/AcademicCalendar.CEAS@ucdenver.edu” in the Server Address field
