The CU Denver Cyber Team placed 4th in the annual Rocky Mountain Cyber Defense Competition (RMCCDC) this past weekend. The team consisted of students from both the Business School and the College of Engineering, Computing, and Design. The event pits cybersecurity students against professional red teamers where the students defend a real-world business environment from active cyber-attacks! The event lasts roughly 16 hours over 2 days, and students have to continually repel cyber-attacks launched by professional cybersecurity gurus. The RMCCDC and similar events are a great way for students to expand their skills outside of the classroom and in a real-world scenario. Quote of the week

“Seeing how committed CU Denver was to helping me succeed is what ultimately made my decision. Having that level of support—from advisors, faculty, and the department—makes a huge difference. It gives you confidence that you’re in the right place.”

~ Michael Ogbinaka, Current Electrical Engineering Student
