Faculty Excellence Awards are CU Denver’s prized way of acknowledging the professional achievements of our hard-working faculty. These awards are given for outstanding performances over the course of the academic year and are selected by colleagues.

This year the CEDC had 5 faculty members nominated for awards, 3 of which won. This year’s faculty awards winners in the College of Engineering, Design and Computing are:

  • Excellence in Leadership and Service – Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty: Cathy Bodine, PhD, College of Engineering, Design and Computing (Bioengineering) 
  • Excellence in Research and Creative Work- Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty:  Emily A. Gibson, PhD, College of Engineering, Design and Computing (Bioengineering) 
  • Faculty Inclusive Excellence Award: Maryam Darbeheshti, PhD, College of Engineering, Design and Computing (Mechanical Engineering)
