Civil Engineering Graduate Student Eleanor Fahrney Wins Hydrology Scholarship

The Department of Civil Engineering is pleased to announce that Eleanor Fahrney was won the 2023‐2024 Rich Herbert Memorial Scholarship from the Colorado Section of the American Water Resources Association.

Fahrney is a master’s student in the graduate track in Hydrologic, Environmental, and Sustainability Engineering (HESE), working with Professor David Mays and U.S. Geological Survey Scientist Connor Newman to designate a sustainable, prioritized network of groundwater monitoring wells in the Upper Arkansas River Basin near her home in Buena Vista, Colorado. She will be giving an invited talk on this work to the combined meeting of the American Water Resources Association and the Colorado Ground Water Association on Friday 4/19/2024.
