CU Denver Construction Program Wins at Associated School of Construction Competition

Each year the University of Colorado Denver Construction Engineering and Management Program competes in the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC).  ASC is a regional competition that includes many schools in the western US.  This year, there were over 1,700 students from western colleges competing in a variety of programs.  CU Denver sent 21 students from Civil Engineering, Architecture, and the Construction Engineering and Management Programs.  These students competed in three competitions which are Mixed Use, Integrated Project Deliver, and Pre-Construction.  In each competition, experienced professionals from major companies provide the teams with a real project, and set up a real scenario for them to solve.  It is very involved and very intense.

Our teams worked hard preparing for this event by meeting weekly, attending mock bids, scheduling, and presenting workshops supported by our Internal Advisory Board (IAB).  Their hard work was present in each team’s performance.  For the first time since competing in the competition, CU Denver’s Pre-Construction Team took 2nd place against 15 schools!  Congratulations to all our teams, and congratulations to CU Denver!
