Biomechatronics Lab
Dr. Weir’s Biomechatronics Development Laboratory has had a very successful year with noteworthy accomplishments of four US patents (link) and 11 (link) publications (one in Nature Biomed. Eng.) as well as a multitude of grant awards totaling $4,660,729. Postdoctoral Fellow Arjun Fontaine, PhD, Dr. Weir’s first PhD students from the very first cohort of BIOE PhD students in 2010, has been awarded an NIH R21 to study Optogenetic Vagus Nerve Stimulation in patients with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). At the CU Denver College of Engineering, Design and Computing, we focus on providing our students with a comprehensive engineering education at the undergraduate, graduate and professional level. Faculty conduct research that spans our five disciplines of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, bioengineering, and computer science and engineering. The college collaborates with industry from around the state; our laboratories and research opportunities give students the hands-on experience they need to excel in the professional world.
