Center for Inclusive Design and Engineering

The Center for Inclusive Design and Engineering (CIDE) received over $1.3 million in program and research grants during the past year.  LUCI’s power wheelchair sensor technology, developed in partnership with CIDE’s Clinic team, was named among TIME Magazine’s Top 100 Inventions of 2020 – (Winter 2021) and was named Best of What’s New 2020 by Popular Science.  The Daniel’s Fund awarded funding to the CIDE team to address social isolation and telehealth needs for older adults living at a distance from family and/or care providers.  Knowledge gained from this project will provide impetus for future technology design and accessibility features. CIDE is celebrating its 25th anniversary at the University of Colorado Denver ǀ Anschutz Medical Campus!
