College opens new technology lab made possible by generous gift from Trimble Inc.

On Friday, Nov. 6, representatives from CU Denver and Trimble Inc. gathered virtually to celebrate a major milestone for the College of Engineering, Design and Computing. Thanks to a significant gift to the university from the California-based construction hardware and software company (which has offices in Westminster, Colorado), the CU Denver campus now boasts a newly opened, state-of-the-art technology lab.
The Trimble Technology Lab will provide students hands-on experience with the latest industry tools through a customized suite of construction hardware and software products. The lab will expand the university’s expertise in project management, architectural and structural analysis, design and engineering, mixed reality, 3D scanning, office-to-field solutions, and GIS data collection and GNSS positioning.
In addition to the Technology Lab, the gift will also support various programs in the Departments of Civil Engineering, Geography & Environmental Sciences, Physics, and Urban and Regional Planning.
