Quarterly Cause for Applause Winners Named

Congratulations to our five exceptional staff members who received the Cause for Applause award this quarter.  The award seeks to recognize university and classified staff for their outstanding contributions, efforts, achievements, service, and innovative ideas. This quarter’s winners are:

  • Kelsie Faulds (Inworks) was nominated by a coworker who wrote that Kelsie is the heart of Inworks who continuously goes above and beyond, is always willing to give extra care and help, and does it with a smile.
  • Natalie Kersten (Bioengineering) was nominated by two faculty who said that Natalie’s outstanding first impressions always reflect positively on the department and college, she exhibits exemplary customer service, and several graduate students have shared that they were drawn to and ultimately accepted their offers to join the bioengineering program because of Natalie—she was helpful, thorough and made them feel welcome even before they joined the program!
  • Pam Mettler (Civil Engineering) was nominated by a colleague who wrote that Pam has been a great champion for improving our processes and procedures; she is willing to try new and innovative ways of doing business in order to reduce waste; and her knowledge and positive demeanor makes her an excellent trainer, guide and mentor.
  • Molly Thompson (Dean’s Office) was nominated by a teammate who shared that Molly keeps morale high through her kind words and encouraging messages, and that she is passionate about creating opportunities for our students—working through the long and difficult process of getting CU Denver registered internships in order to create those opportunities.
  • Tom Thuis (Dean’s Office) was nominated by a faculty member who expressed sincere gratitude for Tom’s commitment to the teaching and research mission of the college, his strategic use of available resources, his initiative in reducing costs and bureaucratic processes, and his willingness to go above and beyond in the service and support of others.

Honorable Mentions:  Ali Gus and Christy Ridd were also nominated, but as recipients in the last 12 months, were not eligible this quarter.

Again, congratulations to our winners for this hard-earned and well-deserved achievement!
