BioEngineering Empowerment Program connects with local high schools

The BioEngineering Empowerment Program (BEEP) was created in the summer of 2020 as a way to provide opportunities and resources for high school students to gain access to engineering, medicine, and other STEM fields. BEEP is a community-oriented, student-led initiative that connects local high schools and high school students with the bioengineering program at the CU Denver and CU Anschutz campuses. Throughout the year, BEEP will provide mentorship, tutoring, activities, events, lab tours, presentations, and other opportunities for high school students to engage with the resources available at the CU campuses.
The program is free for any high school student who wants to join and is low commitment – there is no application process. BEEP also partners and works with other groups in the area that are doing similar work to maximize the opportunities available and to have the greatest impact.
